3D laser welding

3D laser welding is a state-of-the-art joining technique. It is used to permanently join plastic products together by means of a high-quality weld. Laser welding can also be applied to 3D contours through the use of robots. Laser welding offers some major advantages over traditional joining techniques.

Some typical applications include:

  • medical technology: no glue joint, the product is not affected
  • micro technology and chemistry: also suitable for ultra-small parts and components
  • fluid and gas-tight connections: for instance for liquid pumps or tanks

and furthermore:

  • no mechanical or thermal load on the product
  • high-quality and clean weld
  • flexible and contact-free process
  • no vibrations from the process
  • no third component (like glue)
  • accurate positioning of the weld contour
  • controllable energy (heat) supply
  • series production: every weld is identical
